OFFICES

Offices are used for administrative work, data processing and meetings.

DATA PROCESSING & CONTROL

Data are stored in a dedicated box per analysis and laboratory (for hardcopy registration forms) or automatically transferred (for data acquired by specific equipment) to a set of dedicated PC’s (one per laboratory) in room R1.10 for data processing, after which processed data become available on a set of dedicated PC’s (one per laboratory) for data control and approval. Both processes are fully traceable and performed by different persons in order to ensure objectivity.

SAMPLE REGISTRATION & STORAGE

On approval of a project, a unique project ID is given, after which a unique sample ID is generated for all expected (as well as potential additional) samples in the project. Hereby, labels are generated automatically and stored in a specific box per project. Where applicable, a duplicate label is sent to the customer or taken on external sampling campaigns.

Samples from experimental trials performed in our own fish facilities, external sampling campaigns or received from customers are registered, placed in specific green boxes per project, and stored in temperature (and where applicable humidity) controlled cupboards, fridges, freezers, or -80 °C freezers dedicated for non-homogenized samples in room R1.01. Where needed, storage is done in a strictly regulated microclimate in specialized auto desiccators.

SAMPLE HOMOGENIZATION

Prior to analysis, samples are homogenized in R1.02 after which a representative subsample per analysis to be performed is taken and placed in yellow boxes per analysis and project.
When analysis cannot be performed immediately, the yellow boxes are uniquely labelled per project and stored in temperature (and where applicable humidity) controlled cupboards, fridges, freezers, or -80 °C freezers dedicated for homogenized samples in room R1.01. Where needed, storage is done in a strictly regulated microclimate in specialized auto desiccators.
